2 Cute

We got to church a little late today and by the time we got there, it was already packed and we couldn’t find seats. We found a place beside the “Mother’s Chapel” where we stood for the rest of the mass.

The Mother’s Chapel is a glass room where guardians sit with their kids who may be too young to stay put for the duration of the mass. There were so many children in the Mother’s Chapel this morning. It was nice seeing kids there especially the well-behaved ones who wore matching outfits with their moms.

Halfway through the homily, I heard someone knock on the glass. I was a little taken aback, I thought I was going to be reprimanded, but then again I wasn’t even leaning on the glass. But to my surprise, on the other side of the pane I saw a little girl in a cute green dress, with straight shiny bangs and a huge smile on her face. She was waving and pointing at me like she knew me from somewhere.

For a minute I had to make sure I was the one she was pointing at but she was looking straight at me and waving like I was her friend. It was adorable. She was adorable. Her cheerfulness towards me even seemed to amuse her mother.

Around communion time, I was bowing my head saying a prayer. I heard a couple of soft taps on the glass. It was a little boy about the age of one. He was looking up at me and he was smiling. He was cute too.

Funny, I used to joke about my ovaries aching whenever I see cute babies/kids. My cousin even said that I might just be brooding. I have been putting off getting my ovary fixed. Maybe I should take it as a sign to finally take care of it?

I swear I will do something about it this week.

If & When
If and when I have kids, I would like to spend time reading to them.
My mom is a great storyteller, she’s very animated. The stories she told were mostly her own though. Her childhood stories are so interesting and funny.
I can only wish I could be as interesting to my future kids.

Honest Opinion

Today the husband and I went shopping for Christmas gifts for our family. All the buses, trains and malls were packed. Another reason why nothing beats being home during the holiday season.

We entered a boutique coz we spotted a dress on display which we thought would be perfect for my mama-in-law. We looked around to check out the other dresses but we found the one we first spotted, to be the nicest one (I hope his mom will like it! *cross fingers*).

The store’s fitting room had a long queue. And yes, I was going to try on the dress we had picked for my mama-in-law. She is slim and tiny compared to me, haha :D As I told my husband, if the dress fits me it will either fit her perfectly or be just slightly bigger. I was standing outside and there was a lady trying on clothes and her family was with her and they were all telling her that the dress she was trying on was too small for her.

Good thing it didn’t take very long for one of the fitting room’s became vacant. I tried on the dress and it fit just right. I stepped outside to where the larger mirrors were then signaled for my husband to have a look. He said to take it. I paused and looked at myself in the mirror and wondered if his mom would like it. From the corner of my eye I could see a little girl whose face was sticking out from the curtain of the fitting room closest to mine. I think she was accompanying her mom or her aunt. I could tell she was smiling at me, so I looked at her and smiled back.

Then I asked my husband one more time if we should take the dress. The little girl nodded her head and gave me a thumbs up. She adjusted the curtains a bit then gave me two thumbs up! My husband and I had to smile. I gave the kid a You’re-right-we-should-go-ahead-and-take-it look.

Kids are little people who don’t hesitate to tell the truth. It’s not a bad idea to hear them out. Unless of course the kid was the storeowner’s daughter or a really short saleslady. Maybe having a child in the fitting room was the boutique’s sales strategy. If it is, then I’d say it worked pretty well. :D

Merry Christmas! :)

I’ll Take Care Of It

After mass, when walking home we hear a lot of families standing near the sides or walking towards their cars deciding where to have lunch. This morning, Kyle and I overheard one family talking by the bus stop.

Father: I still need to withdraw

Son (about 5 yrs old): There’s an ATM right there. Just withdraw there.

Father: I can’t . That’s not my bank.

Son: Well dad…I have $2.00

Kyle and I just had to look at each other and smile. Kids are so sweet and funny sometimes :)

Baby Talk

I think I’m being teased.

Days before my wedding, I found out one of my cousins was pregnant.

A few days after my wedding, a close friend of mine gave birth to a baby girl. She was kind enough to attend my wedding even if her belly was already about to pop.

Early this month, we learned from a close couple friend of ours that they’re having a baby! My husband and I even concluded that the baby was probably conceived around the time we were on our honeymoon. Haha! :D

I was chatting online with another dear friend of mine today. She already has an adorable daughter, whom I love so dearly. This friend shared with me that they’re planning to have another baby.

I got a gentle tap on my shoulder from my colleague this afternoon and he was beaming. He told me he’d just received good news from his family. He had just got off the phone with his brother. His brother and sister-in-law are having a baby and they have wanted to have one for years!

They’re all good news and upon hearing them I felt genuinely happy, shortly afterwards I felt a little bit jealous. Haha! I do not want to get pregnant only when I’m 30. If circumstances were different, I would have wanted to have a child by the time I turned 25. Of course, with a lot of other things to consider, our residency, our own place, and who will be looking after the baby while we are at work.

I can’t help thinking about how I might find it hard to get pregnant. I was already warned by my doctor about this. I also think about if we really do plan to have kids, we should think of trying while we’re young healthy and while there are less complications.

If the baby comes, he/she will come. :) Considering all things, maybe in 3 years time.

If I were to approach this less thoughtfully, and was slightly detached from reality, I would have at least 4 kids!

I’m sure that when God gives us a baby, we are going to be ready. Ready to accept the challenge of rearing children who will be caring, responsible and God-fearing.

May God bless the parents, their children and couples who are hoping to have children.
